Dr. Henry "Hank" McCoy, better known as Beast, is a founding member of the X-Men. He first appeared in *X-Men* #1 (1963).
Originally possessing superhuman strength, speed, and agility along with enlarged hands and feet, McCoy underwent a serum treatment to further enhance his powers. This resulted in his transformation into a blue-furred, ape-like creature with even greater physical abilities.
